Is Alone in the Dark multiplayer?
No, Alone in the Dark is not multiplayer. There are two protagonists in this title, Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood. This suggested to fans that there might be two different playable characters for some multiplayer story action. This is not the case, though.
The gameplay involves these two characters solving puzzles mysteries in the realm of nightmares at Derceto Manor, but this will just be a switching perspective. It will be one player whose character perspective changes every once in a while.

Think of Alone in the Dark like Spider-Man 2. You could play as Peter Parker Spider-Man, Miles Morales Spider-Man, Venom, and even Mary Jane at times. All these characters were at times playable, but it was strictly single-player.
Previous titles, such as Alone in the Dark: Illumination, did have some co-op options for the horror game, but this one will not. It’s getting back to its purely single-player roots. Illumination, which let players be a hunter, priest, witch, or engineer, was Pure FPS’ effort at making this sort of game multiplayer, and it wasn’t well-received, so they’re not trying again with the 2024 “reboot” game, which is merging the classics from the 90s.
Is Alone in the Dark 2024 split screen?
Since Alone in the Dark 2024 is not multiplayer, there is no split-screen. You can’t play with anyone either locally or online, as it’s a strictly single-player experience albeit with two main characters. Your PC, Xbox Series X|S, or PlayStation 5 will not have to cut the screen in half to accommodate a second player.
