Looking for where you can find the Overgrown Alcove in Last Epoch? This hidden area is very mysterious in what its purpose is in the game, making more players interested in finding it.

Last Epoch is finally in its 1.0 release, with more content than ever before. There are plenty of dungeons to crawl, crafting to be done, and chapters to play through. One of the many secrets of Last Epoch though, are hidden areas that contain structures that seemingly serve no purpose. One of these areas is the Overgrown Alcove. How do you find it? We’re here to let you know.

Where is the Overgrown Alcove in Last Epoch

The Overgrown Alcove can be found in the Verdant Lakes during the Ancient Era, accessed by breaking a large moss-covered boulder. This boulder can be found to the northwest of where you defeated the Map Boss.

Once you’ve found the boulder, break it using any attack. Then, you can follow the opened pathway until you reach the Overgrown Alcove.

Inside the Overgrown Alcove, you’ll be able to wander a bit, and you’ll find a structure of note: a shrine-like structure with glowing runes. This shrine currently serves no gameplay purpose. You can’t interact with it, and it won’t grant you anything.

To leave the Overgrown Alcove once you’re finished exploring, simply head back to the entrance and travel back under the fallen tree.

In the future

While the Overgrown Alcove currently doesn’t serve a game purpose, it’s likely the hidden area will be used for future content in the game. The other hidden areas will likely serve a similar purpose.

All Hidden Shrines in Last Epoch

The Overgrown Alcove is just one of a few different shrine areas that players have managed to find hidden. There are four others players have found:

  • Heoborean Shrine – In Heoborea in the Divine Era.
  • Fractured Drain – In the Barren Aquaduct during the Imperial Era.
  • Sealed Shrine – In the Courtyard during the Ruined Era.
  • 4th Unknown Shrine – in the Imperial Welyrn during the Imperial Era.

These shrines all contain the same structure found in the Overgrown Alcove. Again, they serve no gameplay purpose other than finding the hidden area.

Unlike the Overgrown Alcove, their surroundings reflect the area they’re found in.

That’s everything you need to know about finding the Overgrown Alcove and what it is in Last Epoch. Be sure to check out the alternate leveling path in Last Epoch, and what the max level for the game is, so you can know the best way to get to the top of the leaderboards.
