In Manor Lords, Leather satisfies the first type of Clothing Stall Supply requirement and is used to produce Shoes. It’s also quite easy to produce in vast quantities once you have your settlement up and running, giving you a surplus to trade.

Like many resources such as ale and commodities like clothes, actually producing Leather in Manor Lords requires several production buildings and steps. We’ll walk you through how to get Leather in Manor Lords.

How to produce Leather in Manor Lords

To make Leather in Manor Lords, you’ll first need to secure a source of Hides. The first way to do this is to build and staff a Hunting Camp. Workers will gather Hides alongside meat from Wild Animals. Though sometimes tricky, try to build the Hunting Camp as close to the Wild Animals spot as possible to cut down on transportation time.

Second, you can get Hides by constructing Goat Shed burgage plot extensions. Goat Sheds are available at level 1 burgage plots so you can set them up as soon as you’ve built your first batch of houses. Tap the burgage plot you want to upgrade, click the hammer icon to Construct a Backyard Extension, and then on the goat icon to build a Goat Shed for x25 Regional Wealth. Make sure you have at least one unassigned family to take on the construction work. After that, the Goat Shed extension will passively generate a yield of Hides. Repeat for several burgage plots as needed.

Hides are then turned into Leather at a Tannery, which you can build by navigating to the Industry portion of the Construction menu at the bottom of the screen. For x1 Hides, a Tannery will produce x1 Leather. We recommend building a Tannery fairly close to your main Storehouse, your burgage plots raising goats, and a Hunting Camp to speed up transportation and improve overall Leather production efficiency. Having an extra Oxen is also recommended to speed up construction.

Trading Leather

As we mentioned above, Leather in Manor Lords is an optimal resource to trade in exchange for Regional Wealth as it’s fairly easy to produce in large quantities, even early on. You can do this by constructing a Trading Post, selecting Trade, establishing a trade route, then changing Leather to Export and setting a Desired Surplus (essentially the minimum amount of Leather you want in your Storehouses for consumption by your citizens). Merchant will then visit regularly to take any excess Leather off your hands.
