Helldivers 2 players lament over losing Malevelon Creek to robots

Super Earth just lost the battle against the Automatons in Malevelon Creek. Helldivers 2 players aren’t too happy about losing one of the game’s most dangerous planets to enemy forces. Over on Reddit, several gamers lament over the defeat. For those on different timezones, they woke up to the bad news and others returned from work to find out. 

User Mr_GP87 had ‘literally just finished a mission there when the game booted me from Malevalon Creek.’ Another player BigRedJohnson was ‘running solos between meetings and couldn’t make my next drop.’ And player Crowii entered the first stage of grief with ‘Nah you’re kidding I refuse to believe.’ Others believed that liberating the planet Mort had distracted players from the mission of restoring Malevelon Creek.

Why is Malevelon Creek a big deal in Helldivers 2

Located in the Severin Sector in the Galactic War map, Malevalon Creek was under siege by the Automaton faction in Helldivers 2. It’s known for its ‘strange subversion of photosynthesis that sustains the oddly-hued flora that flourishes.’ Players have called it space Vietnam as robot ambushes are common and laser fire hits you from every direction. Add its dense fog and lush jungles and you can see why players are fond of its challenging skirmishes.

It’s hard to navigate and clear objectives on this map unless you’ve got a helpful squad. When it comes to playing Helldivers 2 solo, Malevelon Creek is one of their biggest challenges. It has also been the talk of the town when it comes to social media, with several Reddit and Twitter posts covering the war effort on Malevelon Creek.

Malevelon Creek has now been taken by the Automatons. But you can still face Hulks and Devastators on other planets to the left of Super Earth.
