A new Helldivers 2 patch just dropped and ended the reign of the infinite stratagem glitch. Triggered by an AFK kick, players were earlier able to use stratagems with zero cooldowns. The option to boot AFK players was just introduced last week and ended up offering a hilarious and overpowered glitch.
Players were able to summon dozens of mortar turrets to take down enemy dropships instantly. Others stacked orbital lasers and Eagle 500kg bomb drops on each other to make a mockery of enemies like Hulks and Bile Titans. You could also claim support weapons like the Railgun and Expendable Anti-Tank repeatedly. This turned even the toughest Helldivers 2 difficulties into a cakewalk. Reddit users also mentioned gaining unlimited revives thanks to this exploit.
The infinite stratagem glitch is no longer a threat in Helldivers 2
Players also called this the Riddler glitch as it threw up purple question marks above those affected by it. Now that the glitch has been removed, you should be able to get back in and play fair against the Helldivers 2 factions. This will keep matches balanced as you try to liberate planets for Super Earth.
User Smarterchild1337 on Reddit noted that ‘being able to choose no primary/secondary weapons in exchange for 75% reduction in strategem cooldowns would be pretty wild’ as a Democracy Officer. But for now, we’re back to using stratagems with regular cooldowns. You can still lower these with the right Helldivers 2 ship modules.
Now that the servers are capable of handling more players, serve democracy by diving in for another round. For those expecting a PvP mode, it doesn’t look like it’ll happen as Arrowhead thinks it would create a toxic fanbase.
