We think Manor Lords will cost around £20

  • This is in line with other early access games such as Palworld
  • Some PC key websites have the game listed for between £17-20
  • Cheapest way to play Manor Lords is on Game Pass, as there is currently a £1 trial for 14 days

Manor Lords is one of the most anticipated games of the year. Having been in development for around seven years, Hooded Horse’s vast city builder sim has amassed more than two million wish lists on Steam. For those wanting to play the game, Manor Lords will be arriving on April 26 in early access form. This means the game won’t be fully finished, but it’ll be playable – much like we saw with another hit of 2024, Palworld. So, what does that mean exactly, and how much can you expect to pay?

How much does Manor Lords cost?

At the time of writing, the official Steam store front page does not have any pricing information. However, there are other retailers that are selling keys, so these can give us an idea of what you’d expect to pay. Eneba.com, for example, has Manor Lords priced at a little over £20.

GG Deals on the other hand have Manor Lords coming in for around £17, which is amongst the cheapest we’ve seen the game. From our own research, we’re expecting the game to land around the £30 mark when the price does finally appear on Steam. In the case of Palworld, another title that is still in early access, the game is priced at £24.99, so our price estimate doesn’t seem too out of whack, however, there are some fans on the Manor Lords sub-Reddit who think it could be priced closer to the £50 mark, given the size of the game. As always, we’d advise waiting until the game is out on Steam before making any purchases and the price has been verified.

It’s also worth adding that the developer has confirmed: “The price of the game may increase at or closer to the official release.” So, there could well be an increase when the game does exit the early access period. In terms of how long the period will be, don’t expect this to be a couple of months. Hooded Horse confirmed Manor Lords will likely stay in this period for at least a year – so we can expect the price to remain stable for at least some time.

As per the official Steam store front page, they write: “We plan to improve the quality of the game by making various improvements throughout early access for at least one year. During early access, we will update the game based on the roadmap, actively adding content and improving the game systems. Depending on the progress of development, we may consider extending early access or if we are satisfied with the state of the game, officially releasing the game.”

What’s the cheapest way to play Manor Lords?

For those not wanting to shell out around £20 there are a few other options. For example, the cheapest way we’ve found to play the game would be via Game Pass. As we highlighted, the service is currently offering a 14-day trial for just £1. Manor Lords will be available on Day One for those on PC, so if you’re wanting to try it out then this is the cheapest way to do it. This only works out cheaper if you decide not to continue the subscription, after which you’ll be charged £14.99 per month, so if you’re on the fence about Game Pass, we’d advise giving it a go.

Is Manor Lords free to play?

That’s a negative. There is no Manor Lords demo, nor is there a free trial for this game. The closest thing to a free trial is the Game Pass offer available at the time of writing.
