We’ve been treated to some new gameplay footage from Ninja Theory’s upcoming sequel Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II.

The footage was shown off at, you guessed it, last night’s The Game Awards ceremony. The footage, all captured in-game, shows Senua leading an attack on some kind of giant troll. Quickly, things go awry, and it escalates from there.

And to quote a former editor of this site, boy howdy does it look good. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was certainly no slouch in the graphics department, but if this is the quality we can expect in the follow-up, our eyeballs are in for a treat. It appears the voices in Senua’s head – a key aspect of the original – will also return for this sequel.

We’ll also note that the logo in the trailer implies the game might have changed its mind about its title. Previous videos have led with the Senua’s Saga portion, while this one has the prequel’s Hellblade moniker as the larger bit. However, the video title and the accompanying description all still call it Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II so maybe we’re reading too much into that and it’s just a marketing thing, who knows?

Whatever the game ends up being called, there’s still no date for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. We do know it’ll be exclusive to Xbox Series X|S and PC and will be coming to Xbox Game Pass.
