Xenofresh Fisheries is a corporation stationed within the Settled Systems. Under the governance of CEO Benjamin Bayu, who maintains a dominant stake in the corporation and simultaneously serves as the overseer of Neon, the firm's main office is found in Neon's Trade Tower.
Overview & History
Emerging in the latter part of the 22nd century, Xenofresh Fisheries identified the aquatic world, Volii Alpha, located within the Volii system. Following this discovery, a fishing platform was established on the planet. Shortly, the company unearthed that the Chasmbass, a native species of Volii Alpha, emitted secretions inducing hallucinogenic sensations in humans without any discernible harmful repercussions. This drug, christened Aurora, was granted clearance by medical authorities for human consumption. However, it was swiftly prohibited within the territories of the United Colonies. This prohibition led to a surge in tourism to the Xenofresh platform. Recognizing the substantial profitability potential of Aurora over solely fishing, in 2187, Xenofresh restructured the platform into the luxury city, Neon, where Aurora was abundant. By 2189, post Volii's association with the Freestar Collective, Aurora's distribution and intake were formally confined to Neon's boundaries.
In the year 2330, under the command of CEO Benjamin Bayu, Xenofresh Fisheries continues to dominate both Neon and Volii Alpha. Bayu instituted that Aurora could exclusively be distributed through Boone Morgan, situated at the Astral Lounge nightclub inside Neon's Trade Tower. Owing to Xenofresh's proprietorship of both the Trade Tower and the Astral Lounge, this setup establishes a monopoly over the legitimate Aurora market for the company. Beyond the bounds of Neon, the illegal smuggling of Aurora remains rampant, notwithstanding the exhaustive efforts from Neon Security coupled with the Freestar Rangers. Moreover, staying true to its foundational mission, Xenofresh Fisheries persistently fishes in the Volii Alpha waters, contributing to the food supply across the Settled Systems.
